SVT Morgonstudion Comment

Our co-founder, Samuel Cizuk, appeared on SVT’s Morgonstudion to discuss the disruption in oil production and exports from the Gulf. He explained that energy markets had sharply retreated overnight following signals from President Trump that he may seek to scale back the conflict with Iran this week, alongside yesterday’s indication that the G7 countries see a need to draw from strategic reserves. At the same time, the disruption continues, with Iran demonstrating that ports, loading facilities, refineries, gas liquefaction plants, and oil and gas production across the Gulf remain highly vulnerable.

SVT Aktuellt Interview

On 9 March, our co-founder, Samuel Cizuk, appeared on SVT Aktuellt to discuss the record-breaking disruption in production and exports from the Gulf, caused by the conflict involving the United States and Israel with Iran.

In the interview, he noted that while the consequences are becoming increasingly tangible, markets were significantly calmed after the G7 nations signalled their intention to use strategic reserves to close the supply gap. Early indications that the US administration is responding to market reactions and may be moving towards de-escalation also contributed to easing tensions.

Ekonomiekot Extra Interview

Our CEO and co-founder, Elin Akinci, recently joined Ekonomiekot Extra to discuss how the conflict in the Middle East is affecting energy markets. In the interview, she explained that the market’s reaction has so far been more measured than the sharp volatility seen during Europe’s previous energy crisis following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Elin also emphasised that while the market is not currently pricing in a similar level of supply shortage, the longer-term impact will depend largely on the duration of the conflict.
